About Shelby Alexandra

Hi, I’m Shelby! I’m a full-time oil painter based in the Pacific Northwest, where my work is heavily inspired by folklore, real-world landscapes, and the strange line between what feels natural and what feels… off. I paint creatures hidden in forests, moments that feel like you've stumbled upon something ancient, and scenes that feel real but blur into fantasy. I've been painting professionally since 2019, creating original works for collectors, interior designers, and businesses across the US.

Alongside my art, I host a podcast called Chill Seeker, where I dive into conspiracies, strange encounters, trending topics and social commentary. A lot of that same energy ends up in my paintings too.

I studied Organizational Psychology at Pitzer College (magna cum laude, honors), which basically means I’m really interested in how environments affect people. That shows up in my work in a subtle way. I don’t just want something to look good on your wall. I want it to make you feel something.

This shop is where I share prints and select pieces from my original paintings so more people can bring that atmosphere into their space without needing to invest in a full original.

If you’ve ever felt like the forest was watching you back, you’ll probably feel at home here.

  • crazy for cryptids

I’ve always been drawn to the idea that the forest is a magical place. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Bigfoot is one of my favorite subjects to paint.

  • ABSTRACT atmospheres

Not everything I paint has a clear form, but it still comes from somewhere real. Some pieces drift between worlds… part landscape, part emotion. “Desire” exists in that beautiful in-between.

  • legends & lore

"RUN!" was an exercise in chiaroscuro lighting technique.. and who doesn't love the legend of the infamous Dogman?
